Dear Members, Visitors, and Friends of the Congregation,

          As previously announced, on Sunday, August 1, we will resume serving communion as we did prior to the pandemic with people coming to the altar rail to receive the bread and the wine. In addition, on Sunday, August 15, we will have a cookout following worship (we will, however, eat inside in the Fellowship Hall). We’ll be serving both beef and turkey hamburgers and hot dogs along with a side dish or two. There is no need to bring anything – just come and enjoy being together again.

          Of course all of this depends on the virus variants remaining under control and not having to resort to new restrictions. I certainly hope we can continue our return to normal – it feels so good!

          The prayer I will pray during our ZOOM worship time tonight, July 21, at 7:00 PM, is a prayer I have been praying in one version or another for some time. More accurately, it’s what I’ve been worrying about, fearful of, for some time, and the worry and fear finally went from short, stumbling prayers to this prayer. I’m not fully satisfied with it, but it will have to do. As always, I hope it speaks to you in some way.

          May God continue to grace our days with faith and hope and laughter as he leads toward being again the congregation he has called us to be,
