Dear Members, Visitors, and Friends of the Congregation,

          Last Sunday I saw someone’s face I had not seen in 14 months because the person was always wearing a mask (and rightly so). But then the mask came off and I was absolutely delighted to see a face (not just the eyes) I had been longing to see. And I am delighted as well that our Adult Sunday School and Wednesday Bible Study Class are meeting again. I hope we will soon see lots of faces and hug and laugh and be Christ Our Hope once more.

          Thea attached prayer, which I will pray during our ZOOM worship time tonight, June 9, at 7:00 PM, is not a close your eyes and listen to someone pray prayer. The best thing to do would be to read it to yourself as I pray it or, if you won’t be joining us on ZOOM, read it before praying a part or all of it as a prayer. Read it as if you are just talking with God because that’s the origin of the prayer – my talking with God as I sat on our deck with Kitty looking out now and then to see if, as usual, my mouth was moving, my arms were gesturing, and my eyes were opening and closing like window blinds.

          May God help us always be part of the solution rather than part of the problem and always give thanks for his presence that sees us through,
