Dear Members, Visitors, and Friends of the Congregation, 

          I had so wanted to do the ZOOM call with you on Sunday, May 8, but my breathing had declined to the point where I had to be hospitalized the following day. I came home this past Friday and have improved enough to be ready for chemo before too long. Kitty and I can't thank you enough for the all the prayers and cards and messages – they truly do keep us going. Also please understand that I am not yet able to personally respond to your messages but soon hope to. 

          I wrote tonight's prayer when I was hospitalized last week and thus it is another very personal prayer reflecting what we are going through and experiencing. Some of you (many of you?) may find these prayers way too “me, me, me” and not of much help to you. On the other hand, you may find that it also reflects what many of you have been through or are going through and gives you some words to pray. At least, that is my hope. 

          May God continue to grace us with resolute spirits in these times that require great resolution of spirit,
