November 11, 2020
Dear Members, Visitors, and Friends of the Congregation,
The attached prayer, which I will pray during our Conference Call tonight, November 11, at 7:00 PM, expresses something I’ve been feeling for a good while now – that the union we call this nation is no longer a union at all and that to continue to be so divided can only lead to our ruin. I don’t know if you would agree or not, but I do hope that the prayer is one that will at least give you a start on a prayer of your own. (Pastor Flanigan’s email contains the information you will need to join the call.)
Our Sunday in-person worship service continues with an average attendance in the high 30s. I have been told by many who are not yet ready to gather together that they enjoy the videos very much. I pray that between the services and the videos you are able to have a sense of worshipping together and to remain connected to the congregation.
Also, a reminder that we are once again participating this Christmas in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program – contact the church office if you are interested in providing gifts for a child in a family in need. In addition, we will not have a Thanksgiving collection of food since we’ve been requesting food donations for Samaritans Together for months now. If you are able, please bring food items to the church as often as you can or contact Sylvia McCullough (770-460-1001) to arrange for pickup.
May God grace us with the strength to remain vigilant during these days of increasing coronavirus cases and to keep doing the smart and safe thing for the sake of all,
Pastor Halenza
